Common questions
Do I need to register the birth first?
Registering the birth with the High Commission of India is recommended and often done together with the first passport. We can handle both — see Indian Birth Registration.
Does the baby need to attend VFS?
Yes, the child normally needs to be present at the VFS appointment along with the parent(s).
Can the baby travel on an OCI instead?
If the child holds or will hold British citizenship, OCI may be the right route instead of an Indian passport. We will advise you during the case check.
